Alice in Chains have been around for quite some time and they have a concert history to match. While the band had humble origins as part of Seattle’s Grunge movement, they have gone on to reach international fame and superstardom. But that was a journey that took the larger parts of their careers.
For instance, the band only had 9 concert appearances from 1981-1988. But things changed for the band in 1989, just before the turn of the decade, as they had a busy year with 32 concerts. This led to wel over 300 concerts during the 1990s, that saw the band playing all across the country.
However, fans know that it was around the early 200s that the band, while not dissolving, was taking a hiatus. Due to various issues, the band played a combined 7 concerts in 2002 and 2005. But 2006 and 2007 saw a resurgence in this band as they played over 130 concerts between the two years.
Looking ahead to 2010, the band had 99 concert appearances followed by a slow two years in 2011 and 2012 where they had 4 and 1 concerts respectively. But since then, the band has reentered their stride with dozens of concerts every year since, except 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. In fact, in 2022 alone, there are 36 concerts planned or performed at the time of writing.
